So much creativity is stifled by the belief that I should reference other people to know what is worth doing.

Creativity seems to come from somewhere that logic and reason can’t access, it’s like something that can only be heard quietly beneath the protest of the thoughts that say I need to know that what I’m doing is valuable before I can spend time on it. That seems like a way to create something mediocre that appeals to the broadest set of people.

I wonder if that’s what drives the data-driven obsession in 21st century business. A fear of trying anything that isn’t easily measurable or predictable.

I’m finding it such a relief to give up the idea of trying to judge the value of something before doing it.

I don't email very often
