I’m currently working on the frontend at Canva in Sydney. Previously, I worked remotely as a JavaScript Wrangler at Automattic, building Check out what else I’m working on now.

I have a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics) and a Bachelor of Arts (Cognitive Science and Japanese majors) from UQ in sunny Brisbane. I’ve also spent a couple of years in Tokyo and speak Japanese casually.

I wrote my first program in QBASIC at age 7 when computers were still something that only businesses and serious geeks owned. It was some kind of text adventure game, but after I realised I could make computers do things I was hooked. During university I supported myself as a web application consultant and worked with Javascript, HTML, CSS, PHP, RoR and Git. I’ve also since worked with C, C# and .NET, and know my way around a Linux terminal pretty well. Lately I’ve been fascinated by functional languages, and have been experimenting with Rust, OCaml and F#.
