Bio

I’m currently living in Sydney, building TwigTask. Previously, I worked on the frontend at Canva. While I was there I helped build the new login experience as well as the groundwork for frontend apps inside Canva. Before that, I was full-time remote at Automattic, building the new WordPress.com with React.

Check out what else I'm working on now.

I have a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics) and a Bachelor of Arts (Cognitive Science and Japanese majors) from UQ in sunny Brisbane. I've also spent a couple of years in Tokyo and speak Japanese casually.

I wrote my first program in QBASIC at age 7 when computers were still something that only businesses and serious geeks owned. It was some kind of text adventure game, but after I realised I could make computers do things I was hooked. During university I supported myself by building web apps for a few clients and worked with Javascript, HTML, CSS, PHP, RoR and Git. I’ve also since worked with C, C# and .NET, and know my way around a Linux terminal pretty well. In the past few years I've been fascinated by functional languages, and have been experimenting a lot with Rust, OCaml and F#.
